(A still from Sita Sings the Blues)
1. I like when people end up together the way I want it to in movies.
2. This did not happen how I wanted it to.
3. Oh man did the ending surprise me.
The movie went a bit further in the story than what I read in my edition of the Ramayana and I was caught off guard. Let's start with how my level of respect for Rama has now gone down. Sita proved her innocence - which was not necessary in the first place -but he was still doubtful of her. Honestly, homeboy, along with Dave but we will get to that in a second, is being a little prick.
Seriously.
You went through all this crap to save her and now you're treating her like (excuse my language) shit.
No.
Also, I think Dave treated Nina like crap too. Seriously. SHE LEFT EVERYTHING TO BE WITH YOU IN INDIA AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA BE LIKE, I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE.
WTF.
ugh!
Go Nina for doing her own thing and using her experiences to delve into the breathtaking story that is the Ramayana.
Loved the style and execution of the film, but I wish things ended more positively for both Sita and Nina. I wish I could change it, but that is out of my control.
I have definitely got a story idea for this week in my head now!
